1. What led you into this career?

Having studied Immunology at University, I originally intended to become a laboratory scientist. However, after gaining experience in a top laboratory at the University of Glasgow I realised that this wasn’t for me. I was looking for a career somewhere between the client facing interactions I had experienced during my time working at Wetherspoons and the analytical and data aspects of my lab experience. So, I decided a career in financial services was the one for me.
  2. What does a typical day in your role look like at TSF Finance?

I am in a primarily support role, handling the behind-the-scenes operations so that the business keeps on it’s exciting trajectory and the brokers can reach out and support more SMEs.
  3. What attracted you to working for TSF Finance?

In my very first interview for TSF Finance I could already feel the energy and positivity throughout the business. Workplace culture is a massive part of what I was looking for and I knew that the culture of TSF was also priority to management. I already feel so welcomed by the team and really comfortable in my new role.
  4. How do you think you’ve made a difference/will make a difference at TSF Finance?

I hope that I can bring my analytical mindset and my creativity to the role , but most importantly, I hope I can bring my efforts and my enthusiasm to the firm so that we can all grow, and I can continue to learn from this amazing opportunity.
  5. What’s one thing that’s surprised you working at TSF?

I was surprised by how welcoming everyone was. I think there is a stigma in financial services that the environment can be cold or difficult to fit in. I have found the complete opposite at TSF.
  6. What’s a work-related accomplishment you’re really proud of?

It is only early days at the company, but I have already begun to use the different financial software that we organise deals with and I’m proud to be getting stuck in to a sector that is so new to me.
  7. Non-work related accomplishment?

I am an avid film fan and have recently begun filming a short film after a lot of years of putting it off. It is a herculean effort trying to organise everything but I’m excited to complete it and continue my creative journey.

  8. What upcoming trends/news/updates in your industry do you think will likely impact the industry in the next five years?

After covid, we are seeing more and more appetite for growth within the industry. Businesses are requiring more machinery, more goods, and more services to keep up. So hopefully, within the next 5 years we will find that this continues and business in the UK continues to prosper after the challenges of covid.

  9. In the current climate, what advice can you give to business owners with regard to their funding challenges?

It is always worth reaching out. The experts at TSF will tell you how your funding goals are achievable and work hard to find you the best providers.
